Ahead of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day – July 27, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc led a Government delegation, offering incense and flowers at the Truông Bồn national historical site in Đô Lương District of the central province of Nghệ An to commemorate the martyrs who died for national independence. Between 1964 -1968, the US dropped nearly 20,000 bombs on Truông Bồn Road, a key route for North Vietnam to supply goods to the South at that time. During the period, more than 1,500 people fought to protect the route. — VNA/VNS Photo Thống Nhất
