QUẢNG NINH  The Hải Hà District Police in the northern province of Quảng Ninh on Thursday caught two men discharging 2,000 litres of untreated waste water into a paddy field in Quảng Phong Commune, Hải Hà District.

The men identified as Nguyễn Ánh Dương and Lã Văn Hà work for the Móng Cái Clean House Company. They admitted that at 1.30pm on Thursday, Phạm Việt Dũng, the company director, asked them to discharge 2,000 litres of waste water of Hoa Lợi Đạt Texile Company in Texhong Hải Hà Industrial Zone.

After collecting the waste water, they discharged them into the local fields. This, however, was not the first time they had done the illegal discharge.

The Hải Hà District Police is conducting further investigations on the waste water source to handle the case, reported the Vietnam News Agency. — VNS
