HÀ NỘI — Twenty-one Vietnamese and Thai women without valid labour documents were caught at an entertainment facility in Puchong town, Malaysian police said on Wednesday.

The women were caught offering services as guest relation staff at the facility on January 8 during a raid by police from the Secret Society, Gaming and Vice Division (D7) of Serdang District at 9:45pm. They were unable to present valid identification and labour documents, said Rozam Effandy, head of the D7 squad.

The entertainment facility also did not have an operating licence, he added. It had been illegally recruiting foreign labourers for entertainment services, he said.

Some 30 customers were present at the time of the raid. The police confiscated all sound equipment and cash at the facility.

Further investigation is underway. — VNS
