BÌNH DƯƠNG – A motorbike taxi driver in Bình Dương Province has returned a bag containing VNĐ200 million (US$8,800) to its owner.

The owner, Nguyễn Đức Hải, 30, was at a café at Phú Hoà Ward’s D1 Street in Thủ Dầu Một City, left in a hurry and forgot the bag on Thursday.

Thirty minutes later, Nguyễn Văn Hùng, a 63-year-old motorbike taxi driver, entered the café and found the bag, after which he informed the café owner and the police.

Hùng became a motorbike taxi driver to support his family and three children who are attending university.

When asked about why he had not taken the money, he said: “It’s a lot of money, but it’s not mine, and I would feel terrible for the guy if he had lost it.”

“Frankly, I thought I had lost it because the café was really crowded. I’m so lucky Hùng is such a kind-hearted person; otherwise, I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t been able to get the money back,” Hải said. – VNS
