HCM CITY – The HCM City authorities plan to build a bridge across the Vàm Thuật River to link districts 12 and Bình Thạnh, according to the city’s Department of Transport.

The entire project includes a road and bridge 2.7km in length.

The bridge, to be 376m long and 18m wide, will cost VNĐ2.1 trillion (US$ 92.6 million).

The bridge will allow easier access to National Highway No.1, Hà Nội Highway and National Highway No.13.

The Department of Transport has assigned the Urban Traffic Management Unit No. 3 to be responsible for building the temporary bridge across the Vàm Thuật River to link districts Gò Vấp and 12.

The bridge linking districts 12 and Bình Thạnh is expected to help traffic congestion and road accidents in the city. – VNS
