A north-south train crashed into a motorbike last night in the capital’s Thanh Trì District, killing two people.

HÀ NỘI  A north-south train crashed into a motorbike last night in the capital’s Thanh Trì District, killing two people.

Witnesses said the motorbike, coming from Alley 48 on Ngọc Hồi Street, was crossing the railway line when train No. SE3 collided with it.

The crash threw the victims some 10m away and destroyed the motorbike.

The two victims are Nguyễn Khắc Tuyền, 40, from Thanh Hóa Province, and Nguyễn Minh Thắng, 32, from Hà Nội.

The automatic warning devices on the railway line were reportedly working properly before and after the accident occurred.

The crash is under further investigation.  VNS
