Free charging stations open for electric bikes

HÀ NỘI — Electric bike drivers can have their vehicles re-charged at no cost using special stations in Hà Nội.

The first three charging stations for electric bikes have been installed on a trial basis at 133 Thái Hà Street in Đống Đa District, 18 Điện Biên Phủ Street in Hoàn Kiếm District and 308 Bà Triệu in Hai Bà Trưng District.

These stations are equipped with devices that are suitable for all kinds of electric vehicles and are easy to use.

Nguyễn Duy Thành, a representative from the project’s investor under Boo Fashion Stores, said these charging stations were installed with the aim of encouraging people to use electric vehicles and other environmentally friendly means of transport.

"The model will be expanded if demand increases," he said.

There are some two million electric bikes and motorbikes in Việt Nam, many thousands of which are in Hà Nội. — VNS
