YÊN BÁI — A forest fire broke out today in northern mountainous Yên Bái Province’s Nậm Có Commune, vice chairman of the Mù Căng Chải District’s People’s Committee Lê Trọng Khang has said.
The fire started at 4pm today in a forest located some 20km from the centre of Nậm Có Commune. Dry weather and strong winds have created difficulties for firefighters attempting to control the blaze.
Currently, the committee has mobilised some 800 people to stamp out the fire.
