HÀ NỘI — European higher education week returned from October 8 to 11 with a series of activities organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Việt Nam and the Embassies of EU Member States to strengthen educational ties, exchanges and cooperation between the EU and Việt Nam.
A highlight of the week is the Study in Europe Fair 2026, taking place in Hà Nội on October 10 and HCM City on October 11. Building on the 2025 edition, which attracted more than 4,000 registrations and over 2,100 participants across the two cities, this year’s fair will give students, parents and others interested in European education the opportunity to explore study options directly with representatives of participating institutions.
The event will bring together nearly 70 universities and higher education institutions from 17 EU Member States: Belgium (represented by Wallonia-Brussels and Flanders), Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden.
Under the theme 'Open Your Mind', the fair invites young people to explore not only study programmes, but also the possibilities that studying in Europe can open up. Experiencing different cultures, exchanging ideas and discovering new approaches to learning can broaden their perspectives and help shape their personal and professional aspirations.
Speaking about European Higher Education Week 2026, Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union to Việt Nam, said: “Education is not only about acquiring knowledge. It is also about learning to see the world from different perspectives.
"Through the Study in Europe Fair, we hope to give young people in Việt Nam the opportunity to discover the diversity of European education, ask questions, exchange ideas, and find the path that best suits their aspirations.
"The connections built through education today will help strengthen the partnership between the European Union and Việt Nam in the years to come.” — VNS
