AN GIANG — German chemical company BASF has inaugurated a new classroom and playground at Ba Chúc Kindergarten in An Giang Province’s Ba Chúc Commune.

This initiative, facilitated by Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, benefits around 40 children aged three to five.

The children in this remote area can now enjoy a new, safe, high-quality school environment that meets national standards.

Constructed about 60 years ago, the original facility was once the commune’s only preschool and had deteriorated significantly.

Erick Contreras, managing director of BASF Vietnam, said: “Offering safe and inspiring school facilities to children in remote areas is one of our key contributions to Việt Nam, enhancing access to education, thus their future success.”

“This project marks the ninth facility we have supported since 2015, benefiting almost 1,000 school children at different levels. A key highlight is our collaborative approach with BASF customers and partners, reflecting our shared long-term commitment to Việt Nam’s education development.”

Apart from the school renovation programme, BASF Vietnam is also engaged in various long-term community projects focusing on educational development. —VNS
