HÀ NỘI The National Exposition Centre (NEC) in Hà Nội’s Đông Anh Commune was officially inaugurated on August 19, reportedly ready to host the National Exhibition of Achievements.

Themed 80 years of the Journey of Independence, Freedom and Happiness, the exhibition scheduled from August 28 to September 5 is to celebrate the 80th anniversary of August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

Spanning over 900,000sq.m, the NEC is positioned to become the largest exhibition complex in Southeast Asia and ranks among the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world.

The architectural highlight is the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall, a symbolic structure featuring a 56-meter-high steel dome weighing 24,000 tonnes, designed to resemble the legendary Thần Kim Quy (Golden Turtle God) from the heritage-rich land of Cổ Loa. Covering approximately 130,000sq.m, the hall includes nine grand exhibition halls and one central hall, offering an ideal space for thematic exhibitions and large-scale events.

The exhibition ecosystem also includes: a permanent exhibition center (Block A), four outdoor exhibition zones (East, West, South, and North), and the VinPalace Cổ Loa International Convention Center, with a total area of 16,800sq.m.

"The National Exposition Centre is a key project of significant socio-economic importance. Located at the gateway to the capital city, it is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and was completed in just under 10 months of construction. Following its inauguration, the center will serve as the focal point for the National Exhibition of Achievements and a series of large-scale cultural and artistic events celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2,” said Mr. Nguyễn Việt Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup.
