TIỀN GIANG - Construction of the second part of the Cao Lãnh – An Hữu Expressway in Tiền Giang Province began on August 12.

The two sections make up the 27km expressway connecting Đồng Tháp and Tiền Giang provinces.

The first part of the nearly VNĐ7.5 trillion (US$298.3 million) expressway project is in Đồng Tháp, and construction began in June last year. The second part is in both Đồng Tháp and Tiền Giang, with its construction being managed by the latter.

They are respectively 16km and 11.43km long, with 7.63km of the latter being in Tiền Giang.

The expressway is one of the key projects in the delta to boost connectivity and regional development.

The second part will end in the Trung Lương – Mỹ Thuận Expressway in Cái Bé District in Tiền Giang.

The four-lane expressway will run parallel to National Highway No. 30 and allow vehicles to travel at speeds of 80km/h when completed in 2027.

During the ground breaking ceremony in Tiền Giang, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Phương, director of the province Project Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Works, instructed contractors to focus on completing the work in time. - VNS
