HÀ NỘI — The second “Children’s National Assembly” session, which promotes young people to engage in issues of concern to them, will be held later this year.
The event was first organised in September last year by the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Central Council of the Hồ Chí Minh Vanguard Children's Union in coordination with departments under the National Assembly (NA).
Speaking at the forum “Tiếng nói tuổi trẻ - Hành động của Đoàn” (Voice of the Youth - Action of the Youth Union), President of the Central Council of the Hồ Chí Minh Vanguard Children's Union Nguyễn Phạm Duy Trang said that this is one of the most special event models of the Youth Union Central Committee for children’s voices to reach the NA.
“What the children said at the session were considered by the NA Chairman and departments of all levels to issue directions and ensure child rights in legislation,” said Trang.

A project on promoting youth engagement in child-related issues for the 2023-2027 period was also launched by the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.
Pioneering digital transformation
Discussions at the forum on Thursday also explored how the Youth Union can assist young people in digital transformation, especially those living in remote areas.

Secretary of the union’s central committee Ngô Văn Cương said that more activities for digital capacity building will be held in the near future in addition to the current training and awareness campaigns for digital transformation, particularly for ethnic minority youth.
The first secretary of the union’s central committee Bùi Quang Huy said that the youth must be the pioneer in national digital transformation, and one of the youth union’s priorities is to create a favourable condition for young people to carry out this mission. — VNS
