HÀ NỘI A huge fire atop OCD Building in Ô Chợ Dừa, Đống Đa, Hà Nội on Tuesday morning created towering column of black smoke.

Around 9:30 AM, the fire broke out from the karaoke on the ninth floor, then spread across the whole floor. There were also fireworks-like explosions heard during the fire.

Many people evacuated from the building, and the fire started to spread to the eighth floor. Sparks from burning LED billboards on the outside of the building fell and started a smaller fire in the three-storey building next door, which also prompted evacuations in the neighbourhood.

Ten fire trucks of the Hà Nội Firefighting, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police immediately arrived at the scene, and extinguished the fire by 10:30 AM.

According to the Hà Nội Firefighting, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, there were no casualties or injuries recorded, and the fire did not damage lower floors or nearby buildings.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the police. VNS
