HCM CITY — The Malaysian consulate general in HCM City will organise the “Malaysia Madani Week” from June 9 to 18 to showcase trade, education and tourism.
Speaking at a press briefing in HCM City on Tuesday, Wong Chia Chiann, the country’s consul in HCM City, said the event is part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.
A series of commemorative events will take place during the week, with the highlights including a Malaysia Madani pavilion, an education fair and food and cultural promotion.
Business matching sessions from June 9 to 11 will gather more than 30 Malaysian brands.
An education fair also from June 9 to 11 will be attended by officials from Education Malaysia Global Services and representatives of 11 public and private universities.
A food and cultural promotion event will be held at four city hotels with eight Malaysian chefs taking part.
The consulate in collaboration with the Việt Nam-ASEAN Friendship Association and HCM City Union of Friendship Organisations will host a business networking session between Malaysian and Vietnamese businesses on June 12.
A cultural exchange programme on June 14 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will feature cultural and musical performances by Malaysian troupes.
Celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations will be held at the Opera House on June 13 and in Đồng Nai Province on June 15. — VNS
