L'ORÉAL-UNESCO for women in science 2024 international award to start receive nominations

The L'Oreal - UNESCO World Outstanding Female Scientist Award in 2024 will be awarded to five outstanding female scientists.

HCM CITY — Fondation L'Oreal and UNESCO have announced they will receive nominations for outstanding female scientists worldwide in the fields of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences for the L'Oreal - UNESCO International Prize 2024.

The L'Oreal - UNESCO World Outstanding Female Scientist Award in 2024 will be awarded to five outstanding female scientists. 

Each continent will have a representative selected from each of five regions: Africa and the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America. 

Criteria of nominated candidates are; have outstanding achievements recognized by scientists in the industry and from the international scientific community; actively participate in scientific research activities; participate in research in the field of Life Science and Environmental Science.

To nominate Vietnamese candidates, scientists can submit nomination documents at the website: www.forwomeninscience.com/authority/international-award.

Nominations will be accepted until June 28, 2023.

Nominated female scientists will be selected by an International Jury and participate in the Award Ceremony in Paris in June 2024 with a prize of 100,000 Euros each.

The Fondation L’Oréal and UNESCO have worked together for more than 20 years to help empower more women scientists to achieve scientific excellence and participate equally in solving the great challenges facing humanity.

To date, the program has awarded more than 100 laureates, five of whom have gone on to win Nobel Prizes. 

Each year, the L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science programmes also support more than 250 talented young women researchers. Through its 52 regional and national programmes, the Fondation L'Oréal and UNESCO support them at a crucial period in their careers, during their thesis or post-doctoral studies. — VNS
