Cần Thơ airport employee returns VNĐ1 billion to passenger

A passenger on a flight from Hà Nội to Cần Thơ City has received back the amount of VNĐ1 billion (US$42,330) that he forgot at Cần Thơ International Airport, a representative of the airport said.

CẦN THƠ — A passenger on a flight from Hà Nội to Cần Thơ City has had VNĐ1 billion (US$42,330) in cash returned after he forgot the money at Cần Thơ International Airport, a representative of the airport said.

On Tuesday afternoon, a member of airport staff discovered a forgotten suitcase when he was collecting luggage trolleys in the domestic arrivals area.

Security officers checked the suitcase through airport screening and found VNĐ1 billion and some personal belongings in it.

According to the airport representative, last year, 56 officials and employees found and returned money and belongings passengers left behind on aircraft and in terminals worth a total of VNĐ1.4 billion.

On Monday security staff at Hà Nội's Nội Bài International Airport discovered a forgotten bag containing nearly VNĐ1.2 billion and returned it to the owner. — VNS
