HCM CITY — Traffic police in HCM City have fined a man who rode a horse in peak hour in the city's centre
The 30-year-old was seen on the white horse riding around HCM City’s centre on Tuesday while wearing a yellow coat and a helmet of a ride-hailing firm Be, Tuổi trẻ (Youth) newspaper reported.
He was stopped by traffic police at 6.20pm Tuesday while riding at the Hai Bà Trưng-Nguyễn Đình Chiều intersection. He and his horse blocked other vehicles and posed traffic danger to others, the report said.
The photos of the man and the horse on the street, taken by passers-by spread widely on social network platforms.
The rider said he was hired to advertise the ride-hailing app and confessed not to knowing the traffic law and admitted his violation.

He was fined VNĐ160,000 for two administrative violations: riding animals on the road designed for motor vehicles, not having enough equipment to store animal waste and not cleaning up animal waste on the streets and sidewalks.
The police also kept the horse and required the man to arrange a proper vehicle to transfer the animal, which was said to be hired from a farm in Bình Chánh District and moved by a truck to HCM City.
"The man is not a driver of Be and the company is further looking into the incident," a communication officer of Be told Việt Nam News. — VNS
