HÀ NỘI — A total of 723 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Việt Nam on Friday.
All of the new transmissions were locally transmitted.
Hà Nội again reported the highest number of infections with 142, followed by Phú Thọ (50) and Nghệ An (37).
The others cases were detected in Lào Cai (32), Vĩnh Phúc (29), Đà Nẵng (28), Quảng Ninh (27), Yên Bái (27), Hồ Chí Minh City (24), Tuyên Quang (24), Bắc Ninh (22), Nam Định (19), Thái Nguyên (17), Thừa Thiên Huế (17), Quảng Bình (16), Thái Bình (16), Hòa Bình (15), Bắc Giang (14), Hưng Yên (13), Hà Nam (13), Ninh Bình (12), Bắc Kạn (12), Cao Bằng (11), Hà Giang (11), Lạng Sơn (9), Hải Phòng (9), Sơn La (9), Hải Dương (8), Đồng Tháp (8), Lâm Đồng (7), Thanh Hóa (6), Quảng Trị (5), Lai Châu (5), Bình Định (5), Điện Biên (4), Bình Phước (4), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (3), Vĩnh Long (2), Bến Tre (2), Khánh Hòa (2), Phú Yên (2), Đồng Nai (1), Bình Thuận (1), Quảng Ngãi (1), Quảng Nam (1) and Bạc Liêu (1).
Quảng Ninh Province’s Health Department also registered a further 760 transmissions to the national system after review.
The national caseload has now reached 10,736,408.
A total of 8,381 COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,591,486.
Forty-two patients currently require breathing support.
No deaths from COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total number of fatalities nationwide stands at 43,083, accounting for 0.4 per cent of the total infections.
By Friday, nearly 225 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Việt Nam. Of these, more than 201.75 million were for adults, more than 17.5 million for those aged from 12 to 17 years old, and more than 5.64 million for children aged 5 to 11. — VNS
