HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 1,344 new COVID-19 infections, all domestically transmitted, and two deaths on Wednesday.

The capital Hà Nội again led the number of new daily cases with 316, followed by Vĩnh Phúc Province with 94.

The other localities reporting new transmissions were Bắc Ninh (90), Nghệ An (76), Phú Thọ (63), Quảng Ninh (55), Yên Bái (55), Đà Nẵng (44), Tuyên Quang (41), Lào Cai (37), Quảng Bình (36), Hồ Chí Minh City (35), Thái Nguyên (31), Bắc Kạn (29), Thái Bình (27), Nam Định (23), Hà Nam (21), Hà Giang (19), Lâm Đồng (18), Sơn La (18), Quảng Trị (17), Lạng Sơn (17), Cao Bằng (16), Hưng Yên (14), Khánh Hòa (13), Bắc Giang (13), Hòa Bình (13), Lai Châu (12), Bình Phước (12), Đắk Nông (11), Thừa Thiên Huế (10), Hải Dương (10), Thanh Hóa (9), Tây Ninh (7), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (7), Điện Biên (6), Quảng Ngãi (6), Ninh Bình (5), Phú Yên (4), Vĩnh Long (4), Bến Tre (3), Bình Thuận (2), An Giang (2), Cần Thơ (1), Sóc Trăng (1) and Cà Mau (1).

To date, the country has logged 10,712,733 COVID-19 infections, ranking 12th globally.

The health ministry also announced 2,459 recoveries, bringing the total to 9,414,862.

194 COVID-19 patients are currently in serious condition, including two requiring mechanical ventilation and two on life support.

The two deaths were in Tây Ninh and Trà Vinh provinces, bringing the total fatalities in the country to 43,078, or 0.4 per cent of infections.

219,796,318 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far, with 198.56 million in the adult population, 17.4 million for those aged 12-17 years, and 3.79 million for children aged 5-11. — VNS
