1,322 new coronavirus transmissions reported on Tuesday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam saw a slight increase in new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday with 1,322 cases detected, bringing the national total to 10,711,389.

The number of new transmissions registered was an increase of 143 compared to Monday.

The capital Hà Nội again had the most daily infections with 321.

The other localities reporting new transmissions were Vĩnh Phúc (98), Phú Thọ (94), Yên Bái (58), Quảng Ninh (52), Nghệ An (50), Hải Dương (50), Tuyên Quang (44), Bình Phước (40), Lào Cai (39), Hà Nam (38), Hải Phòng (36), Thái Bình (33), Thái Nguyên (32), Nam Định (28), Hòa Bình (27), Bắc Kạn (27), Hưng Yên (24), HCM City (22), Hà Giang (19), Lâm Đồng (16), Quảng Bình (16), Sơn La (16), Hà Tĩnh (15), Bắc Giang (14), Điện Biên (13), Quảng Trị (12), Ninh Bình (11), Cao Bằng (11), Đà Nẵng (10), Thanh Hóa (8 ), Lai Châu (8 ), Quảng Ngãi (8 ), Lạng Sơn (7), Bình Dương (6), Gia Lai (4), Bình Thuận (4), Bến Tre (3), Tây Ninh (2), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (2), Hậu Giang (2), Đồng Tháp (1) and Bạc Liêu (1).

The seven-day rolling average of new cases currently stands at 1,487.

The health ministry also announced 6,495 recoveries, bringing the total to 9,412,403 since the pandemic began.

216 COVID-19 patients are currently in serious condition, with 12 requiring mechanical ventilation and two on life support.

There were no COVID-related fatalities. The total death toll so far in Việt Nam is 43,076. 

More than 219.25 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide so far, with 198.32 million in the adult population, 17.43 million for those aged 12-17 years, and 3.49 million for children aged 5-11. — VNS
