HÀ NỘI – A total of 3,595 new COVID-19 infections and 64 deaths were recorded in Việt Nam on Tuesday.
Among the new cases, only three were imported and the rest were local transmissions. A total of 1,431 new infections were found in the community.
HCM City recorded the highest number of daily infections with 783, followed by Bình Dương (528) and Đồng Nai (481).
The capital city Hà Nội reported 18 new cases.
The other cases were detected in An Giang (290), Đắk Lắk (162), Tiền Giang (121), Tây Ninh (120), Kiên Giang (118), Trà Vinh (108), Bạc Liêu (106), Long An (66), Nghệ An (59), Cần Thơ (57), Thanh Hóa (50), Gia Lai (46), Khánh Hòa (45), Bình Thuận (40), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (33), Phú Thọ (33), Cà Mau (32), Quảng Nam (28), Hà Giang (28), Hậu Giang (27), Nam Định (26), Bình Định (23), Bình Phước (23), Bến Tre (19), Vĩnh Long (18), Đồng Tháp (17), Thừa Thiên Huế (12), Ninh Thuận (11), Hà Nam (11), Hưng Yên (8), Quảng Ngãi (8 ), Đắk Nông (7), Lâm Đồng (6), Sơn La (4), Quảng Bình (3), Đà Nẵng (2), Phú Yên (2), Vĩnh Phúc (2), Kon Tum (2), Bắc Giang (2), Lai Châu (2), Tuyên Quang (2), Bắc Ninh (1), Lạng Sơn (1), and Hải Dương (1)
Việt Nam’s total caseload now stands at 896,174, of which 891,389 are the result of the fourth wave of infections that began in late April.
The 64 COVID-related deaths were announced in HCM City (27), Bình Dương (14), Đồng Nai (4), Tiền Giang (3), Long An (3), Bạc Liêu (3), Tây Ninh (3), An Giang (3), Ninh Thuận (1), Cần Thơ (1), Cà Mau (1), and Nghệ An (1). The total death toll is now 21,802, or 2.5 per cent of all cases in the country.
More than 2,700 patients nationwide are in a serious condition, according to the Ministry of Health’s report, with 329 requiring invasive ventilation and 17 on life support (ECMO).
A further 2,989 patients were given the all-clear on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 810,290.
