Party General Secretary Tô Lâm expressed his belief that the Belgian king's visit, accompanied by senior officials, business leaders, representatives of universities and research institutes, would create new momentum to deepen and enhance the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Việt Nam and Belgium.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính expressed gratitude for Belgium’s continued development support for Việt Nam and urged further concrete initiatives during his meeting with Belgian King Philippe in Hà Nội.

Regarding economy and trade, an important pillar in the Việt Nam - Belgium relations, the two countries' leaders agreed to continue to effectively implement the EU – Việt Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

The agreement was signed at the Organised Immigration Summit in London by the UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and Việt Nam’s Minister for Public Security, General Lương Tam Quang.
