Việt Nam and Brazil issued a joint statement on elevating bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (local time) on the occasion of Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s ongoing trip to the Latin American nation to attend the G20 Summit and have bilateral activities.

The two countries have witnessed robust development in relations across various domains, including regular exchange of delegations at all levels, sustainable growth in economic – trade ties, and close coordination at multilateral forums.

Việt Nam - Armenia trade reached US$62.6 million in 2022, up 469 per cent from a year earlier, and hit $342 million in 2023, an increase of 516 per cent compared to 2022. There remains room for both countries to boost cooperation in such areas as economics, trade, science, and education.

The programme is co-organised yearly by the Singapore International Foundation (SIF) and National Youth Council (NYC) Singapore.

The official visits to Chile and Peru delivered an important message to the international community, particularly to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean region, about Việt Nam's consistent foreign policy while the State President’s attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week reaffirms Việt Nam's commitment to APEC cooperation.

APEC leaders adopted a joint statement and endorsed two signature initiatives proposed by host country Peru: the Lima Roadmap to Promote the Transition to Formal and Global Economy and the Ichma Statement on a New Look to Advance the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific.

At all meetings, leaders underscored the importance of multilateralism and multilateral frameworks in which their countries are members, including APEC.
