The Standing Committee of the 14th National Assembly will pilot an immediate question-and-answer (Q&A) session during its 22nd sitting, which is scheduled to take place on March 21.

HÀ NỘI — The Standing Committee of the 14th National Assembly will pilot an immediate question-and-answer (Q&A) session during its 22nd sitting, which is scheduled to take place on March 21.

According to the NA Standing Committee’s Plan No. 252/KH-UBTVQH14 issued on March 1, the Q&A session will focus on two groups of issues. Legislators are requested to ask short and clear questions for no more than one minute, while the respondent must answer immediately for no more than three minutes.

The first group of issues are measures to ensure the progress, quality and procedures of Government projects submitted to the legislative body; solutions to deal with delays in the issuance of documents stipulating the details of laws, ordinances and resolutions of the NA and the NA Standing Committee.

How to promote law dissemination and education and to improve the efficiency of law enforcement will also be included in the first group of issues.

The Minister of Justice will be primarily responsible for answering questions in this group. Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hoà Bình, the Minister-Chairman of the Government Office; the Ministers of Home Affairs, Information and Communications, and Education and Training will also answer and explain questions about relevant issues.

The second group of issues are related to the progress on the application of science and technology in production and business to increase labour productivity and promote socio-economic development.

The Minister of Science and Technology will be the main respondent for this group of issues, while Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam; the Ministers of Finance, Home Affairs, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Education and Training will give responses to relevant issues.

Apart from members of the NA Standing Committee, the session, to be broadcast live, will also be attended by representatives from the National Assembly Council of Ethnic Affairs, the NA’s committees, the Standing Committee’s agencies; the NA Office, the Party Central Committee’s Office, the State President’s Office, the Government Office, the State Audit Office, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and relevant agencies. — VNA
