HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee of (VFF) has launched the 13th journalism award for the Cause of Great National Unity.
Speaking at a ceremony on Tuesday, Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, Politburo member cum President of VFF Central Committee, affirmed that the 20,600 members from the 800 press agencies, including journalists and editors, were important forces in reflecting the Party and the State’s policies and laws, as well as the activities of the relevant ministries, sectors and localities, and expressing the thoughts and aspirations of the people throughout the country, as well as initiating their models for national development.
Under the award rules, journalistic papers must be timely and accurate in commenting on the Party and State’s policies, and the VFF programmes of action in building and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc.
They also contributed to encourage and motivate people to study and follow the moral example of President Hồ Chí Minh during the implementation of instructions and resolutions on Party building, setting up a clean and strong government, fighting against corruption and practising thrift against wastefulness.
Printed newspapers, radio, video, e-newspapers and press photos are eligible for the award. Works submitted for the prize must have been used by news agencies across the country between October 1, 2016 and September 20, 2018.
The organisers will receive press works between June 21, 2017 and September 20, 2018. The winners will be announced on the 88th anniversary of the VFF Traditional Day on November 18, 2018. There are three types of prizes, with special prizes worth VNĐ30 million (US$1,320), A prizes of VNĐ15 million ($660), B prizes of VNĐ10 million ($440), C prizes of VNĐ5 million ($220) and consolation prizes worth VNĐ3 million ($132).
On the same day, the VFF launched the debut of its Front Electronic Journal in commemoration of the 92nd anniversary of Việt Nam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2017). — VNS
