HÀ NỘI — National Assembly (NA) deputies yesterday passed revised laws on the Guard Force and on the management and use of weapons, explosive materials and support tools.
The revised Guard Force was approved with 455 “yes” votes, accounting for 92.67 per cent.
It comprises six chapters with 33 articles, stipulating the subjects, principles, tasks, power and responsibilities of the Guard Force as well as relevant responsibilities of agencies, organisations and individuals.
The same day, 457 or 93.085 per cent of the deputies voted to pass the revised law on the management and use of weapons, explosive materials and support tools was approved.
Consisting of eight chapters with 76 articles, the law regulates the management and use of weapons, explosive materials, explosives precursors and support tools.
It also specifies the principles and responsibilities of agencies, organisations and individuals in managing and using weapons, explosive materials, explosives precursors and support tools to protect national security, maintain social order and safety, protect human rights and citizens’ rights and serve socio-economic development. — VNS
