HÀ NỘI — The Political Bureau on Friday proposed that the Party Central Committee consider and impose disciplinary actions against former Politburo member, former permanent Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hòa Bình.

After considering a proposal by the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, the Politburo concluded that Bình, during his time as Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Government's Party Civil Affairs Committee, and permanent Deputy PM, violated the Party's regulations and the State’s laws in performing his duties, particularly in the prevention and control of corruption and other negative phenomena.

He also breached rules on what Party members are prohibited from doing and the responsibility to set an example. His violations caused serious consequences and negative public opinion, hurting the reputation of the Party and State.

The Politburo also decided to impose a disciplinary warning on Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, alternate member of the 13th Party Central Committee and deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, and Mass Mobilisation.

It recommended that the Party Central Committee consider relieving him of his position as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee.

Hiếu, during his tenure as Secretary of Cần Thơ City’s Party Committee, violated the Party's regulations and the State’s laws in the performance of his duties, particularly in the prevention and control of corruption, wastefulness, and other negative phenomena.

He also infringed upon rules regarding what Party members are prohibited from doing and the responsibility to set an example. These violations caused serious consequences, created negative public opinion, and damaged the reputation of the local Party organisation and authorities.

At its 55th meeting, chaired by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the committee’s Inspection Commission Nguyễn Duy Ngọc on March 31 and April 3, the commission also imposed disciplinary warnings against Trần Việt Trường, a member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) and mass organisations, and Vice President of the VFF Central Committee; Nguyễn Mạnh Dũng, former Acting Secretary of the Hà Giang Provincial Party Committee; and Phạm Ngọc Nghị, Deputy Secretary of the Đắk Lắk Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. — VNS
