Party chief presents Hồ Chí Minh Order to former Politburo member

HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary Tô Lâm presented the Hồ Chí Minh Order to Đinh Thế Huynh, former Politburo member and former permanent member of the Secretariat of the 12th Party Central Committee, in Hà Nội on Thursday.

At the event, the Party chief affirmed that the decoration symbolises the Party and State’s recognition of Huynh’s dedication and extraordinary contributions to the Party and nation’s revolutionary cause, and wished him and his family a new year with good health and prosperity.

Party General Secretary Lâm said he hopes that Huynh will continue contributing to the national construction and development.

Huynh expressed his emotion and honour to receive the State and Party's decoration, and thanked his colleagues and various party organisations that shaped his revolutionary path and helped him complete his missions.

Huynh's remarkable journey began at 18 when he joined the military and fought in the Quảng Trị battlefield. He was admitted to the Party at the age of 21 and participated in the historic Hồ Chí Minh Campaign.

Throughout his career, Huynh has held numerous critical leadership positions, including Editor-in-Chief of Nhân Dân (People) Newspaper, Chairman of the Việt Nam Journalists Association, head of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education, and Chairman of the Central Theory Council. — VNA/VNS
