I think that the sustainable development goal is a very interesting topic because it's now become the common goal across countries including Thailand. So we are willing to learn and share with other young parliamentarians in this session.

Of course, if we want to achieve sustainable development goals, we need a new innovation to access it, to reach the target of the goal. So digital transformation is of course one of the ways to maximise the resources and we have to use the resources efficiently.

I would also support and encourage young people to participate in politics and there are many ways to participate in politics. Because I think politics is about their future and of course will definitely determine the future of the young.

Of course, I think because each country has its own dynamic, maybe we can learn from some case study that's suitable for our country and maybe some of our case studies would be suitable for them. I think the more we share, the more we learn, the better we can improve our own world.

I am very happy and honoured to represent Brunei at the 9th Global Conference for Young Parliamentarians. The theme of this conference focuses on the role of youth in escalating the achievement of SDGs through digital transformation and innovations, and I think that this theme could not be more relevant today, as we are now living in an era when I see the rapid advancements of artificial intelligence.

This progression is gradually transforming digital innovation from a mere advantage into a necessity for nations aspiring for technological progress.

Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are also the influences of today. They'll bring innovative ideas and fresh perspectives to the table. So with that, hopefully, there will be more balanced and inclusive perspectives in the policy-making process.

My colleagues and I hope to gain insights from the global community, experience and perspective.

We want to understand how digital transformation and innovations have effectively harnessed worldwide to expedite the achievement of the SDGs.

Enhancing digital capacity for the youth actually is a very important topic. It is very important for the youth to have digital literacy for the efficiency of their work.

So I think as a young member of the Parliament, the whole world should adopt enhancing the capacity of the youth to the digital economy. And it's very important also to enhance the capacity of cybersecurity because in the digital economy, you think you can do a lot of business to grow the digital economy, but cybersecurity and cyber attacks are threats to the digital economy.

So the world should now come up with a digital infrastructure that can attack cybersecurity and cyber attacks for the sustainability of the digital economy and digital competence.

It's really an honour for us for the group of parliamentarians from Italy to be here in Việt Nam for one of the most important topics in the world, the Climate Exchange and all the youth generation.

Young parliamentarians can contribute to this fight against climatic change, and digital is one of the instruments to achieve this important goal. Why? Through digital instrument, we can improve new technology, a new way of life, a new way of work and together improve new technology to have a sustainability different from the past.

I think that is really a fantastic opportunity only to speak together, to have a new relationship. We can exchange the best practices. We can also speak together about the problems that we have with each other in our nations and talk about how to fight together for this important goal.

I think the choice of the topic this year is excellent. Indeed on a global level, the future will depend on the decisions that policymakers will make in this field, such as digital transformation and innovation.

At a parliamentary level, in order to face these global challenges, I think the role of young people is really crucial. If we want to overcome some global challenges such as poverty, hunger and all that is listed among the sustainable development goals, I think the role of youth is imperative, mainly, I would say.

First of all, the future we are acting for will be the place where young people today will be living.

Secondly, the population is predominantly young already. And thirdly, perhaps most importantly, we will need much, much creativity if we want really to reshape and rebuild the production system, and the distribution system and if we want to change our habits that are.
