HÀ NỘI — An exhibition featuring silk paintings by students of the Việt Nam Fine Arts University will be held at AGOhub from 5pm on Saturday, February 1.

An attempt by both lecturers and students to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Rat, the exhibition, which is entitled Flying Pieces of Silk, will showcase thematic works of the students majoring in Silk Art at the university that have been selected over the past two years.

The silk artworks not only present the individual concepts of each artist, but also demonstrate their improvements in silk painting techniques.

According to the exhibition’s curator, painter Nguyễn Thế Sơn – one of Việt Nam’s leading artists, the exhibition aims to introduce the professional practices of the students and thus cultivate further interest in a traditional art of young generations of artists. The event is also expected to give them more motivation for their creative careers ahead.

The free show Flying Pieces of Silk will run until March 1. AGOhub is at 12 Hòa Mã Street, Hai Bà Trưng District. — VNS
