Đà Lạt Flower Festival returns after 2 years in December

The 8th Đà Lạt Flower Festival will take place from December 20 to 24 in Đà Lạt and Bảo Lộc cities, the Lâm Đồng Province People’s Committee has announced.

HCM CITY — The 8th Đà Lạt Flower Festival will take place from December 20 to 24 in Đà Lạt and Bảo Lộc cities, the Lâm Đồng Province People’s Committee has announced.

The biennial cultural and tourism festival cherishes flowers and the flower industry in Đà Lạt, and this year has the theme ‘Đà Lạt and Flowers’. 

It will showcase all the colourful flowers grown locally by decorating public areas around Xuân Hương Lake, flower villages, tourist attractions, and major streets with them between December 20 and January 2.

There will be 13 major events at several venues, including an international flower and bonsai exhibition and the Đà Lạt Flower Trade Fair from December 20 to January 1, a Việt Nam-Korea culture and art exchange programme on December 21 and a scientific conference on architectural heritage of Đà Lạt on December 23.

Workshops on investment, trade and tourism promotion in Lâm Đồng Province and the links between the tea and mulberry industries with the socio-economic development of Bảo Lộc will also be held.

A Lâm Đồng Tea and Silk Culture Week with the theme “B'Lao shimmering night” will promote the tea and silk industries in Bảo Lộc.

A fashion show featuring unique designs made from Bảo Lộc silk and brocade will be held on December 22.

The 2017 Đà Lạt Flower Festival attracted 500,000 visitors. — VNS
