HCM CITY — The Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee in HCM City and HCM City Television, in co-cperation with their partners, will broadcast a special music programme on Vietnamese seas and islands tomorrow (August 29) to mark the 74th anniversary of National Day (September 2).
The show, Hướng Về Biên Giới Biển Đảo Tổ Quốc (Reaching to Vietnamese Seas, Islands and Borders), will feature revolutionary songs by talented composers in different periods.
There will be performances in praise of the country, its history and traditional culture.
Songs on soldiers and people who are living in remote areas of seas and islands are also featured.
The show will include dozens of young and veteran singers, dancers and musicians from professional art troupes.
Singers Vân Khánh, Quốc Đại, Phi Hùng and Quý Bình will perform and talk about their trip to Trường Sa (Spartly) and other islands.
A special exchange of soldiers and fishermen settled in islands and borders will also be included.
The show will raise money for the Fund for Việt Nam Seas, Islands and Borders. The fund targets raising VNĐ30 billion (US$1.29 million) for helping officers, soldiers and people living in islands and border areas.
