HCM CITY — Pop star and songwriter Đông Nhi will stage a solo performance in HCM City on Saturday to celebrate Christmas.
Her live show, called Ten on Ten, will feature pop, dance and electronic dance music.
Nhi will be supported by her band members Hồ Hoài Anh and Đỗ Hiếu.
The 30-year-old singer will perform before more than 40,000 guests at the 7th Military Zone Stadium.
"My second concert, Ten on Ten, will mark my growth in music," said Nhi, who started her career in 2007.
Nhi will perform more than 30 songs, including 2018’s hits Pink Girl, Love Like Me and Leave Me Alone.
Evening highlights will include I Wanna Dance, Hey Boy and Bad Boy, which helped the singer become a pop star.
These works were named the favourite songs of 2014 at the Zing Music Awards event, launched by Zing Music, a prestigious music online channel.
As a graduate of HCM City’s Music Conservatory, Nhi began her music career as a songwriter.
She became a professional singer after performing her own songs on the first album, The First Step, in 2010. The album became a hit.
She has performed in several TV game shows and films.
Her songs in both Vietnamese and English are in praise of love and youth.
In 2016, she received the Best Asian Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Hong Kong.
She also brought home the third Golden Apricot for best singer of the year launched by the HCM City-based Người Lao Động (Labourer) newspaper.
Her latest album, Ten on Ten, a production of dance and electronic music, was produced by Viết Tân Studio in September. More than 2,000 copies sold out after just two weeks of release.
The album was one of the year’s top hits on online music channels.
Nhi’s manager and also her boyfriend, music producer Ông Quang Thắng, said: “Nhi will sing without guest singers.”
“She spent time training her voice and dance skills with her dance group of 20. We hope to provide Nhi’s fans with a great party of sound and light,” he said.
The concert will begin at 8pm on December 22 at the 7th Military Zone Stadium, 202 Hoàng Văn Thụ Street, Tân Bình District. — VNS
