KAMPEN, NETHERLANDS — Paintings portraying the landscapes of two cities, Hà Nội and Kampen, are being shown in an ongoing exhibition entitled Hà Nội – Hoàng Hà Tùng – Kampen in Kampen, Netherlands.

The exhibition follows the success of the artist’s first show in the Netherlands, a 2017 exhibition featuring portraits of Vietnamese and Dutch farmers.

The works displayed this time were painted directly on the spot. They combine simple strokes with sophisticated colours to demonstrate the painter’s affection for the two cities that inspired him – Hà Nội and Kampen.

In addition to landscape paintings, Tùng is also showing Tôi (Những miền riêng biệt) (Me – Separate Regions), telling fairy tales and legends and showcasing imaginary images painted on dó (poonah) papers from his hometown.

Vietnamese ambassador to the Netherlands Ngô Thị Hòa and the mayor of Kampen Bort Koelewijn attended the opening of Hà Nội – Hoàng Hà Tùng – Kampen. The mayor welcomed the painter’s return to Kampen, adding that he was moved by Tùng’s affection for the city, evident in his emotion-filled landscape paintings.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Hòa praised the artistic creativity and energy of the painter as well as the positive co-operation between artists of the two nations, highlighting the Stichting Work#art organisation that helped the Vietnamese painter bring images of Hà Nội closer to Dutch arts lovers.

Hà Nội – Hoàng Hà Tùng – Kampen is being held in Het Werk art centre and Gallery Huize Maria, the headquarters of Work#art.
