HÀ NỘI —  A duet concert by pianists Lise de la Salle and Thomas Enhco will take place at L’Espace in Hà Nội on Saturday.

This is the first time the two well-known French pianists have played for a Vietnamese audience.

The 30-year-old de la Salle gave her first concert, broadcast live by Radio France, when she was nine.

In 2000, she won the first prize of Ettigen international competition for young pianists.

Since 2001 she has been performing in major concert halls in Europe, the US and Asia including the Berliner Philharmonie, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space.

The female pianist also won the European Young Concert Artists in Paris in 2003 and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York in 2004.

Thomas Enhco is a French pianist, violist and classical and jazz composer. Born to a family of musicians, he started playing the violin and the piano as a child, with classical and jazz training in both.

Since his studies at the CMDL and Paris National Conservatory, he has released seven albums and has played about 120 concerts per year around the world, both classical and jazz. — VNS
