ĐÀ NẴNG — The Vietnam News Agency (VNA), in co-operation with Việt Nam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), officially launched a photo exhibition on Việt Nam Sea and Islands in the central city of Đà Nẵng yesterday.
The exhibition, which features 150 black and white and colour photographs, depicts the beautiful seascapes and islands of Việt Nam, islanders’ daily lives and marine economic activities. The images were collected from the archives of the VNA and Vietsovpetro, a joint oil and gas venture between Việt Nam and Russia.
The photos are among thousands taken by VNA journalists and Vietsovpetro staff during trips to Việt Nam’s sea and islands territory in the Hoàng Sa (Paracel) and Trường Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
The exhibition also honours the sacrifice of soldiers and civilians in protecting the country’s islands and sea and working at offshore oil fields, reconfirming the country’s sovereignty on the Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa Islands and raising patriotism and awareness of the country’s sovereignty on the two archipelagos among the community.
It will run until November 22 at the Vietnam News Agency’s Central and Central Highlands region office at 81 Quang Trung Street in Đà Nẵng. — VNS
