HCM CITY — Twenty-three publishers from South Korea are introducing their publications at Korean Book Fair 2018, which opened today in HCM City.
The two-day fair is co-organised by the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea and the southern representative of the Việt Nam Publishers Association (VNPA).
Lê Hoàng, vice chairman of VNPA, said: “The Korean Book Fair in HCM City creates opportunities for Vietnamese publishers and book companies to approach quality publications from Korean publishers, and buy publishing rights to diversify the domestic book market.”
The event displays children’s books, novels, reference books, arts books, and electronic books from Korea’s leading publishing houses such as BookGoodCom Picture Books, Hanbit Media, Leescom Publishing Company and Ahn Graphics.
The Korea Magazine Association is introducing magazines in different fields from lifestyle and entertainment to business and trade.
The fair also offers a stall showcasing 79 publications from Korean publishers who could not join the event.
According to Kim Yeongjin, Secretary General of the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea, the agency organised 12 Korean book fairs in the US, Indonesia, German and Việt Nam between 2015 and 2017.
In Việt Nam, the fair was held in Hà Nội last year, attracting 73 publishing businesses from two countries.
This year, more than 20 Vietnamese publishers plan to do business with Korean publishers at the event.
