HCM CITY—  Pop stars Mỹ Tâm and Hà Anh Tuấn will perform in a concert in HCM City on July 7.

Produced by TodayTV, the show Love Song Concert will offer romantic songs and ballads in praise of youth and love.

Tâm and Tuấn will together sing songs written by talented composers such as Võ Thiện Thanh, Hồ Hoài Anh and Khắc Hưng. 

Tâm, began her career in 1997 when she was a student at the HCM City Music Conservatory.

In 1999, she signed an exclusive contract with Vafaco, the city’s leading music producer at the time. Her first single album with Vafaco named Nhé Anh (You) became a recording phenomenon in the local market.

She sings in Vietnamese and English.

She was selected as one of the Global Pop Sensations You’ve Never Heard Of by the American-based ABC News in 2010.

Two years later, she received the prize Best Asian Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong from the South Korean-based Mnet Television. She also won Best Southeast Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. 

She has released nine albums, some of which have been best-sellers. Her latest album, Tâm 9, ranked 10th on Billboard’s World Albums chart in the third week of January according to sales data compiled by Nielsen Music.  

Tuấn, a graduate of Technische Universitat Darmstadt in Hessen, Germany, worked as a professional singer in 2006.

He has released seven albums, including Acous’84, a production of nine songs in R&B which helped the singer bring home the Golden Album of the Year presented by HCM City Television in 2010. 

He recently began working as a music producer.

Both singers will also perform solo with support from dancers and musicians at the HCM City Conservatory of Music. 

Love Song Concert will also feature young singers Hoàng Mỹ An, Jang Mi, Isaac, and Minh Nhật.

The event will begin at 8pm at the Military Zone 7 Gymnasium, 202 Hoàng Văn Thụ Street, Tân Bình District, on July 7. Tickets are available at ticketbox.vn. — VNS
