HÀ NỘI – Vietnamese pop singer Phạm Đan Trường will perform at half-time when U23 Việt Nam take on South Korea’s K-League all stars in a friendly, which will take place at 8pm, July 30 at Ha Noi’s Mỹ Đình Stadium.

According to the organising board, the news has been welcomed by football fans and Trường’s admirers. One of the songs he will perform is Dòng Máu Lạc Hồng (The bloodline of Lạc Hồng).

Dubbed the prince of V-pop, Trường, 40, is known for pop, dance and folk song and has been a professional singer since 1997.

The game is coach Nguyễn Hữu Thắng’s final chance to watch his team play before they head to South Korea to train for the SEA Games 29 in Malaysia.

For the South Korean team, which leaded by coach Hwang Sun Hong, several outstanding faces in national championship have been sent to the game like 2012 Asian Best Player Lee Geun Ho and K-League Best Player Yang Dong Hyun.

Last Wednesday, the organising board began to distribute tickets online, priced at VNĐ100,000 (US$4), VNĐ150,000 ($6) and VNĐ200,000 ($8).

“We hope football fans will come to the game to watch Trường’s performance. Besides, they can give all the loving hearts to cheer for U23 Việt Nam,” said a member of the organising board.— VNS
