Toyota Classics concert to feature Polish orchestra, Vietnamese singer

HCM CITY — Famous singer Tùng Dương will perform at the 19th Toyota Classics 2016 concert at HCM City’s Opera House on November 11.

The event is organised by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific and Toyota Motor Việt Nam (TMV) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 27th anniversary of “Music that Moves Lives” programme in the Asia Pacific region.

The concert will feature the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, which won the Polish Grammy for Best Music of the year in 2015, under violinist and conductor Vasko Vassilev, a former child prodigy and winner of many international prizes in violin competitions.

The opening performance, ASEAN Harmony will be performed by young Vietnamese singers.

The proceeds from the concert will go to the Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talent programme, which aims to assist excellent students studying in five music training schools under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Toyota Classics has been organised annually from the mid-1990s with many tours to countries in the Asian Pacific region. This year, Toyota Classics 2016 will travel to eight countries from October 22 to November 11, including: Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Việt Nam.
