ĐÀ NẴNG – Local cuisine has been identified as a key tourism product in a strategic plan to position Đà Nẵng as a leading culinary destination in the region, vice chairwoman of the city People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi said at the launch of the Đà Nẵng Food Tour Festival.
The festival, which will be held at Biển Đông (East Sea) Park and Tam Thanh coastal mural village from May 20 to 24, is considered an important step in the city’s broader tourism development strategy aimed at strengthening its profile on the global tourism map, she said.
“The food festival this year will bring an authentic experience to tourists by watching, tasting and living together with the local community and chefs. They will not only be using hot cooked specialities of Đà Nẵng and Quảng Nam, but enjoying stories of traditional foods from local craftsmen and women,” Thi said.

She said cuisine has played a key role in boosting tourism growth in the city over recent years.
Đà Nẵng has welcomed nearly six million visitors, including 3.4 million international arrivals, in the first four months of this year, marking a 19.2 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
During the national holiday week alone, Đà Nẵng attracted 1.46 million visitors and generated VNĐ5.7 trillion in revenue.
The city’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department said the Beer Fest Night, featuring the 1909-brand Larue beer, will offer 5,000 food and beer options with promotions ranging from VNĐ89,000 (US$3.5) to VNĐ179,000 ($7.16) at Biển Đông (East Sea) Park.

Green SM, an eco-friendly transport service, will offer a 20 per cent discount on each trip to the Đà Nẵng Food Tour Festival, the department said.
It added that a chain of five unique food tour services covering Đà Nẵng, Hội An, Điện Bàn and Đại Lộc will be introduced at the festival and the service will run through December 2026.
Tourists visiting Đà Nẵng will have more options to enjoy beach entertainment and sports activities during the five-day festival.
