HCM CITY — The prestigious MICHELIN Guide cuisine awards will be held in Hà Nội on June 4 this year.

The MICHELIN Guide Restaurant Ceremony for Hà Nội, HCM City and Đà Nẵng will unveil the latest restaurant selection for the MICHELIN Guide Vietnam.

This year’s event will be the fourth edition of the MICHELIN Guide in Việt Nam, which celebrates the country’s evolving culinary landscape.

The 2026 restaurant ceremony also carries great historical significance as the global gastronomic community celebrates the 100th anniversary of the MICHELIN Star.

Since the introduction of the rating system in 1926, the MICHELIN Guide has honoured culinary mastery and recognised restaurants that deliver outstanding dining experiences.

The Hà Nội event will bring together chefs, restaurateurs, industry leaders, partners, and the media.

Returning with the successful one-night format introduced last year, it will feature the official announcement of the MICHELIN Guide restaurant selection, followed by a cocktail reception and live stream to engage a wider audience.

The event will not only unveil the annual MICHELIN Guide selection for the three cities, but also celebrate the accomplishments of their culinary communities and provide an opportunity for chefs and restaurateurs to connect and inspire one another.

All dining establishments in the selection are assessed and rated by anonymous MICHELIN Guide inspectors, according to five universal criteria: quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavours, the personality of the chef expressed in the cuisine, and consistency over time and across the menu.

At this year's ceremony, there will also be guest chefs from around the region, bringing diverse culinary excellence to the reception such as three-Michelin-star chef Stefan Stiller from Taian Table, two-Michelin-star chef Garima Arora from Gaa and other luminaries.

The ceremony will be broadcast live via the MICHELIN Guide Youtube channel allowing food enthusiasts and industry professionals to share a night of celebration. — VNS
