HÀ NỘI — An exchange programme for traditional art and photography has attracted nearly 200 international photographers from the Photographic Society of America (PSA) to an event that took place on Monday in the ancient village of Thổ Hà in Vân Hà Ward, Bắc Ninh Province.

This meaningful activity has contributed to cultural development under a policy that was outlined in Resolution 80-NQ/TW.

Photography is a highly creative art form capable of capturing authentic moments, conveying humanistic values and connecting people across differences in space, language and culture.

Within the framework of the programme, international photographers explored and worked in various settings around Thổ Hà ancient village, including temple and pagoda complexes, narrow alleyways, ancient houses, village gates and ferry docks, as well as scenes of daily life and local culinary culture.

One highlight of the programme was a traditional art exchange, featuring performances by cultural singing clubs of quan họ, ca trù and tuồng (traditional opera) styles.

Through the creative lenses of international photographers, vivid and emotionally rich images were produced, capturing the moss-covered beauty of traditional architecture and the vibrant colours and simple rhythm of village life.

Each photograph not only preserves a moment, but also tells its own story, helping to spread the image of the ancient village around the world.

The combination of heritage performances and photographic creation offers a modern and effective form of cultural promotion, bringing the image of Bắc Ninh closer to international audiences in a natural and engaging way.
