HCM CITY — Women photographers in HCM City are presenting new works showing their love for the homeland as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day.

The exhibition, themed Quê Hương Qua Ống Kính Nhiếp Ảnh Nữ TPHCM (The Country through the Lenses of Women Photographers in HCM City), displays 165 photos by 55 artists who are members of the city Photography Association.

Ngô Thị Thu Ba, head of the association’s women photographers’ division, said: “The exhibition is an annual event to honour the non-stop passion for photography by HCM City’s women photographers, as well as contribute to capturing and preserving national identity through lenses.”

The exhibition features various topics, including the colourful beauty of nature, the country’s landscapes and culture, and life in urban areas and craft villages, which the artists captured during field trips across the country over the past year.

The artists also captured the joyful, vibrant atmosphere of the city during a special celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2025).

Đoàn Hoài Trung, chairman of the association, said women photographers introduced artistic and emotional images capturing peaceful life in many different regions, from quiet lands to bustling cities.

He added that they told stories through photos, catching moments of life and colours of light.

In addition, the association has released a photo book featuring works on display at the exhibition, and images of activities launched by HCM City’s women artists in the past year.

The exhibition remains open until March 11 at the association,122 Sương Nguyệt Ánh Street, Bến Thành Ward. — VNS
