HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam National Fine Arts Museum (VNFAM) is bringing art to life after dark with its new programme Night at the Museum, held on the last Friday of each month.
For the first time, the museum is opening its doors at night to offer visitors a fresh and engaging experience with a series of themed events.
Tickets start from VNĐ250,000 (US$10) per person, giving attendees the chance to take part in flashlight tours of the museum’s renowned collections, supported by the iMuseum VFA – an automatic multimedia guide app that enhances the viewing experience.
The programme features a variety of activities including live painting demonstrations by artists and guided sketching sessions. Visitors can also take part in hands-on craft activities such as decorating lanterns with dó (poonah) paper and traditional woodblock printing.
A highlight of the evening will be expert-led talks offering insight into nine national treasures, while live music performed by artists from the Việt Nam National Academy of Music will add to the atmosphere.
The admission fee does not include craft activities or souvenirs.
Night at the Museum is envisioned as a new cultural tourism product combining visual arts, heritage education and interactive experiences in one venue. Each event is curated to reflect the changing seasons and cultural rhythms of Hà Nội, offering something new every month for both residents and visitors.
The series began on October 31 and will continue on November 28 and December 26, featuring themed programmes such as Charming Autumn, Winter Street Stories and Missing the Twelve. Event schedules may be adjusted and will be regularly updated through the museum’s official channels.
Presented by VNFAM in collaboration with the Chuyện Của Hà Nội Page (The Story of Hanoi) and the Hanoi FM Culture Project Group, Night at the Museum is set to become one of the capital’s most cherished evening attractions, fostering humanistic values, enhancing art education and supporting the growth of Việt Nam’s creative industries. — VNS
