ĐÀ NẴNG - Top Indian wedding planners have affirmed they will continue bringing ultra-luxury weddings from India to Đà Nẵng, developing a new tourism product for the city.
Recently, the Đà Nẵng Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the city’s Tourism Promotion Centre and partners, welcomed an Indian famtrip delegation to survey Đà Nẵng’s tourism infrastructure, products, and services catering specifically to wedding tourism. The trip runs until October 9.
The delegation included representatives from airlines but was mainly composed of India’s leading wedding planners.
According to Tán Văn Vương, deputy director of Đà Nẵng’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city’s tourism sector has achieved impressive results in the first nine months of 2025, welcoming over 14.4 million visitors, up more than 22 percent year-on-year.
Among them, international arrivals reached 5.8 million, an increase of more than 31 percent.
Notably, India has risen to become the third-largest international visitor market for Đà Nẵng, with 267,241 arrivals, double the same period in 2024.
Vương highlighted that Đà Nẵng, combined with Quảng Nam, forms the largest centrally-governed city in terms of area, boasting 217 km of coastline and a diverse tourism ecosystem including UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Hội An Ancient Town and Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary, the Marble Mountains, Cù Lao Chàm World Biosphere Reserve, and Sơn Trà Nature Reserve.
The city’s tourism infrastructure and amenities are increasingly modern and high-end, with more than 2,300 accommodation facilities, including 111 internationally branded 4-5 star hotels; golf courses; convenient air routes; as well as traditional craft villages and long-standing cultural-historical relics, well-positioned to serve the Indian market.
In addition, Đà Nẵng is developing new tourism products, including wedding tourism, leveraging its advantages as an ideal seaside resort destination.
It is also the first locality in Việt Nam to pilot special policies for large-scale wedding groups, such as displaying welcome messages at Đà Nẵng International Airport, organising traditional performances, offering flowers and souvenirs to newlyweds, providing drone filming services, honeymoon suites, and cyclo tours.
As a result, Đà Nẵng has already hosted numerous international weddings, including more than 10 luxurious events organised by billionaire families, enhancing the city’s reputation.
“Đà Nẵng is an ideal destination where wedding planners can easily design romantic, uplifting stories, complemented by modern facilities and rich cultural heritage. It will inspire couples to choose Đà Nẵng for diverse, emotional experiences,” Vương said.
Sharing the same view, Murad Enver, Sales and Marketing Director of Inventum Global and representative of the famtrip delegation, said Đà Nẵng is among the most outstanding wedding destinations in Southeast Asia thanks to its strong development of international-standard resorts, modern transportation network, and stunning natural scenery.
He noted that large-scale traditional Indian weddings, with massive guest numbers and elaborate rituals, are well-suited to Đà Nẵng’s strengths such as spacious banquet halls, eco-tourism offerings, high-end beach resorts, private venues, and superior quality services that cater to diverse styles of wedding celebrations, making Đà Nẵng a standout destination in the Indian market.
On behalf of the famtrip, Enver confirmed that Indian partners will continue consulting, promoting, and bringing ultra-wealthy couples to Đà Nẵng for wedding tourism.
“Đà Nẵng also has the advantage of diverse cuisine, with hotel chefs skilled in Indian gastronomy, helping guests feel at home. Familiar cultural heritage further enriches the unforgettable experience,” Enver added.
Meanwhile, according to Chauhan, a representative of the Indian famtrip delegation, the most impressive aspect is the flexibility of hotels in accommodating the cultural needs of Indian visitors, from traditional rituals and distinctive cuisine to multi-day celebrations.
He believes that in the coming years, Đà Nẵng will become one of the most attractive wedding destinations for Indians.
Traditional Indian weddings are typically large in scale, featuring consecutive ceremonies and hundreds of guests.
With its modern hotel system and experienced local partners, Đà Nẵng is fully capable of meeting these demands.
In particular, the city’s beachfront resorts provide an ideal setting for signature rituals such as Mehndi, Sangeet, Baraat, and the main wedding ceremony, allowing each event to be deeply rooted in Indian culture while infused with the vibrant colors of Việt Nam’s seaside. - VNS
