HCM CITY – An exhibition featuring 80 paintings and pottery artworks by five young artists opened yesterday in HCM City.
Titled Hiểu Cảnh, the exhibition showcases paintings and ceramics, with each piece aiming to convey the depth of meaning within the artist's work.
The artworks on display explore various themes. Nguyễn Thanh Vũ delves into spiritual subjects using images of ocean waves and skies; Phạm Hải Âu captures the emotions experienced while making music as a musician; Quí Phan illustrates the places he has visited across the country, and Trinh Vương portrays precious moments in daily life where light merges with humanity. Lê Trung Hiếu focuses on Biên Hòa pottery, highlighting the beauty of ancient artisans.
Through oil paintings following the style of Post-Impressionism, the artists aim to convey strength, vitality, passion, youthfulness, and peace in their works. With ceramics, the artists strive to preserve and enhance the beauty of ancient Biên Hòa pottery.
Speaking about the exhibition, Thanh Vũ mentioned that he and his group of friends have spent time together collaborating on many occasions.
“This exhibition is a platform to introduce new artists and their creations,” he stated.
According to Vũ, this exhibition represents progress from previous ones as it combines both paintings and pottery materials. Additionally, the exhibition covers various themes, with each artist presenting their unique collections, such as Vietnamese landscapes, family life, music in art, ancient Biên Hoà pottery, spiritual topics, and An Nam culture.
Although each artist originates from different fields, they converge on artistry. While they depict different themes, all paintings exude a positive, fresh energy with vibrant colours and goodwill from the artists. The exhibition aims to provide viewers with a sense of tranquility and familiarity from the depicted imagery, contributing to a rejuvenated art scene in the country.
The exhibition is located at the HCM City Fine Arts Association, 218A Pasteur Street, Xuân Hoà Ward, and is open until August 20. – VNS
