HÀ NỘI — An Arts Council and a Secretariat will be established for the photo exhibition titled 'Việt Nam Through the Lens of International Photographers'.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) has recently issued a decision on the establishment of the council and secretariat of the event which is held for the third time by the MoCST in collaboration with the Huế People's Committee, the city's Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the Department of Culture and Sports.

The exhibition, part of the 'Việt Nam International Photography Festival – Huế 2025', is scheduled to take place in the central ancient city of Huế this September.

The MoCST has tasked the arts council with selecting works for display and awarding prizes based on the criteria set by the Organising Committee.

Meanwhile, the ministry assigned the secretariat to prepare content, synthesise data, record all of the council's meetings honestly and accurately, and implement relevant regulations set by the organisers.

The 'Việt Nam Through the Lens of International Photographers' exhibition aims to capture the attention and interest of both domestic and international photographers, photography enthusiasts and the public.

It also serves as a platform for Vietnamese and international photographers to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and showcase their work.

Participants are encouraged to submit photos highlighting the beauty of Việt Nam’s people, culture and landscapes, particularly those of Huế.

Submitted photos must have been created within the last two years and must not have been previously displayed or awarded in competitions organised by the culture ministry.

They must be created using realistic methods, and any images that are collaged, erased, adjusted, or digitally distorted will be rejected.

If necessary, the Organising Committee has the right to request the author to submit the original file to verify the information.

The photos must be submitted in JPG format, with a file size of 4MB-6MB and a resolution of 300dpi. Those created by artificial intelligence (AI) will not be accepted.

Submissions can be made directly on the website vipfhue2025.vn by June 15. Each photographer can submit up to 20 single photos.

A total of 200 selected photos will be displayed at the exhibition, and 20 of them will receive official prizes, worth VNĐ10,000,000/each.

In addition to the official prize, there may be prizes from the sponsors. The prizes can be cash, in-kind or preferential services as decided by the sponsors. The Organising Committee will announce these additional prizes later.

All of the selected photos will then be presented in a photo book.
