Music piece by Azerbaijani composer debuted in Hà Nội

The event, initiated by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Việt Nam, supported by the embassies of Turkic-speaking countries in Việt Nam and organised by the Việt Nam National Academy of Music, is considered an historical event for Azerbaijan-Việt Nam friendship.

HÀ NỘI -- The premiere of “Vietnam Suite” written by the prominent Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev for the first Soviet film “Vietnam” in 1954 was held in Hà Nội on December 14.

The event, initiated by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Việt Nam, supported by the embassies of Turkic-speaking countries in Việt Nam, and organised by the Việt Nam National Academy of Music, is considered a historical event for Azerbaijan-Việt Nam friendship.

The work was performed by the Việt Nam National Symphony Orchestra and the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Honna Tetsuji, and the film was shown at the same time.

People’s artist of Kazakhstan and outstanding musician Aiman Mussakhajayeva participated in the concert as an honoured guest.

Speaking at the concert, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Việt Nam Shovgi Mehdizada informed participants about the life and works of genius Gara Garayev and presented information about the great contributions of the composer to world music. Noting that the magnificent work written by the composer is a very important contribution to strengthening the friendship between the two nations, information was given about the attention paid to creative people and culture by the national leaders who laid the foundation of this friendship, President Heydar Aliyev and President Hồ Chí Minh. – VNS
